The field most preprinted labels leave out
Commercial workplace labels usually give you a product identifier, GHS pictograms and a signal word. What they often lack is anywhere to write the accumulation start date, which 40 CFR 262.17(a)(5)(i)(C) requires to be clearly visible on each container. It is the item inspectors look for and the one that gets written in a margin, or not at all. It is a first class field here.

This covers 40 CFR 262.17(a)(5)(i) for large quantity generators and the marking condition at 40 CFR 262.15(a)(5) for satellite areas. Small quantity generators have parallel requirements at 40 CFR 262.16(b). Your state program, your transporter and your receiving facility may all want more on the container, and DOT marking and labeling requirements for the shipment itself are separate and live in 49 CFR part 172.
