Build a printable sign in the format 29 CFR 1910.145 specifies. 27 presets, 15 of which carry wording that a standard mandates word for word, from permit-required confined space to the twelve substance-specific regulated areas in subpart Z.
Some of this wording is not yours to change
The substance-specific standards say a regulated area sign shall bear the following legend and then print it. For those, paraphrasing is a deficiency. Presets marked as mandated are locked, and the tool shows you the citation. Everything else is editable, because the rule requires a sign without dictating the words.
1. Pick a Sign
Landscape reads better on doors, cabinets and equipment. Switch to portrait for wall-mounted signs and tall blanks.
Set your printer to the same paper size and turn scaling off, or the sign will be cropped.
The first line is set larger. Keep lines short: a sign is read at distance, not up close.

This generates a sign in the format the standard describes. It does not decide whether your area needs one, what size it has to be, or where it goes, and those answers come from the standard that applies to your operation plus any state plan or local fire code that is stricter. Colour values are set by ANSI standards incorporated by reference and are not reproduced here, so a sign that must match exactly should be printed to that specification. The biohazard and radiation symbols are not drawn by this tool; use an authoritative source for those rather than an approximation.
